Driving from Reykjavik to Siglufjordur is an adventure in itself. The breathtaking Icelandic scenery is sure to offer some great photo opportunities as you drive through mountain passes and across lava fields. By air

Air Iceland flies between Reykjavik and Akureyri 7-14 times each day, depending on the time of year. The flight time is only around 45 minutes and driving from Akureyri to Siglufjordur only an hour more. Total travel time from Reykjavik is less than two hours.

When you arrive in Akureyri you can either get to Siglufjordur by public transport or by car

By Public Transport

You can get to Siglufjordur by bus nr. 78 in the public transport system (Strætó). The bus leaves three times a day from Akureyri during the week but only once on Sundays. For further information on busses and schedules see the Strætó website.
